This course will cover how the Internet is organized, addressing, routing, DNS, TCP/IP, the use of Internet applications, and the creation of Web pages using HTML and graphical applications. It will address Internet applications including electronic mail, World Wide Web, FTP, messaging, TCP/IP-specific network troubleshooting tools, and Web page authoring. Addresses basic through advanced Internet applications, protocols, and programming concepts behind creation of Internet applications using SMTP, HTTP, HTML and more. Voice over IP, streaming video and other networked multimedia distribution technologies are also explored. The design of effective Web site including page layout, user interface design, graphic design, content flow and site structure as well as management of Web site resources including intra- net management and design considerations are addressed. Students design and create a major Web site with multiple pages and cross-linked structures. It delivers a foundation of base knowledge that should be known by all Web professionals.
