Readings for the class will be assigned from the textbooks as well as in the form of online reading. All readings should be done before coming to class on the assigned date. While it is entirely possible to complete the course with no outside reading, it is not recommended. Generally if you do the readings you will excel in the course, as the lectures serve as a clarification and explanation of material you are already familiar with. See the Schedule of Topics for the reading assignments.

Quizzes may be given at the instructor's discretion and will often be used for verification that assigned reading has been completed. As they are discretionary, weight of quizzes in grading is also left to the instructor's discretion but shall not exceed 20% of the grade.

Exercises for this class will be guided learning experiences; they may include questions to ensure that the necessary skills have been mastered. The specific weight of exercises in grading is left to the instructor's discretion and will be included in the class participation grade.

There will be one homework assignment as described below.

Homework will be a World Wide Web site meeting specific requirements as described in Lesson 7.1 and as established by the instructor. The project will placed on the Web .

The module final examination (course final examination) will be a certification-style exam consisting of multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, short answer, and short essay questions to demonstrate mastery of the material covered; questions will be based on the learning objectives for each topic. The exam will be open-book/open-notes/open-web.

Plagarism is unacceptable; a ll work submitted by students must be their own. Plagarism may result in an automatic grade of "E".

Grading:
Grading criteria for IT/ITM 462 students will be as follows:

• Outstanding work reflecting substantial effort:
  90-100%
• Adequate work fully meeting that expected of a graduate student:
  80-89%
• Weak but still marginally satisfactory work:
  70-79%
• Substandard work not meeting reasonable expectations:
  60-69%
• Unsatisfactory work:
  0-59%

Grading criteria for ITM 562 students will be as follows:

• Outstanding work reflecting substantial effort:
  90-100%
• Adequate work fully meeting that expected of a graduate student:
  80-89.99%
• Weak but still marginally satisfactory work:
  65-79.99%
• Unsatisfactory work:
  0-64.99%

The grade for the course will be calculated as follows:
