You're probably wondering what the heck a gadfly is, right? If not, read no further and go straight to the commentary…

Otherwise, if you've read up on your classics lately, you'd know that a gadfly was someone who made a point of annoying others by pointing out what the status quo chose to ignore. Such folk tried to shock people into seeing what they could not see (or chose not to see), and therefore know.

Accordingly, we're here to inform, share our thoughts, and give a good, fibrous perspective on various topics, sorted into the headings above. My fellow writers and myself aim to offer a critical, sometimes sardonic persective on American life, world affairs, or anything else that begs examination. There may be something we see in the world, and we'll impart our thoughts or other “slice-of-life” observations to society at large—at least those of us on the greener side of the digital divide. So, be prepared for writings of rumination, political hoopla, serious social issues, poetic perspectives on daily life, and an occasional, obscure thought or two.
