About this Site
In this course we will discuss Web site architecture for internet, intranet, and extranet platforms. Particular focus will be on the technical issues surrounding building, hosting and administering a major ecommerce site. We will examine the functional components of web servers and features of leading web server software, as well as the criteria for technical and business web site performance. We will assess options for in-sourcing and out-sourcing web site functions. Student teams will build a Web server platform using a leading commercial package.
